There are three different types of classes you can take at Camp Rosette. Each of the options offers you an opportunity to learn
in a different scenario and with varying degrees of specialization. Choose the classes that appeal to you!
Each class description includes a brief summary of what is addressed in the course and the format of the class along with the
scheduled time and the price.

This class is split between a workshop in music theory, the psychological aspects of songwriting, and a critique-based
masterclass environment where students have the opportunity to showcase their songs in front of their peers to receive
constructive feedback on structural, musical, and performance aspects. Students will also have the opportunity to
use the skills learned in the class to compose a song to perform if they don't already have a catalogue of music.

Students are invited to perform in front of the class and the instructor. The class will workshop each students performance
through an instructor-guided critique involving technique, interpretation, and musicianship.

Addressing topics ranging from free-form experimental improvising to rock soloing, jazz and counterpoint techniques, this
class gives an overview of some different styles of improvisation. Students will have the opportunity to try their hand
at improvising during the class time.

Combining historical references with music theory and practical application, this course communicates the depth and
interconnected nature of these two styles. Basic riffs, licks, scales, progressions, and chords are addressed as well
as style-specific performance practice. A perfect combination class with the Rock Band Workshop.

Through practical examples, the student will be introduced to the basics of applying standard jazz practices to the guitar.
Swing, latin, and contemporary styles will be addressed with a focus on jazz chord structures, improvisation, and rhythmic approaches.

This crash-course in fingerstyle technique theory takes the student through a number of different ideas about developing
skill as a fingerstyle player. Although no specific styles are addressed, the approaches and tools presented are intended to be
usable for any situation from Classical to Country. Book is included in the workshop price.

For those interested in learning the basics of flatpicking bluegrass, this course is a great introduction. Students
learn picking techniques, runs, chord strumming, and have the opportunity to learn a song during this fun introduction
to pickin' and grinnin'.

During the course of the week the class will learn about music theory on the guitar, rehearsal techniques,
ensemble playing, rock chords, soloing scales. The students will put them all to use learning a whole song which
they'll perform at the grand finale concert. The three hour course includes group theory lessons, daily private
coaching, rehearsal time, sound equipment, amps, and even lunch! Electric guitar rentals are also available if required.

etiquette, and technique as it applies to a professional classical guitar ensemble.

ensemble playing, jazz chords, and soloing scales. The students will put them all to use learning a whole song which
they'll perform at the grand finale concert. The 2 hour course includes group theory lessons, daily private
coaching, rehearsal time and amps. Electric guitar rentals are also available if required.

Students will be introduced to the bluegrass style and guided through the rudiments of performing both rhythm
and melody part. Using the traditional bluegrass circle as the format, the class will learn a bluegrass song during
the week and will perform at the grand finale concert.
