Camp Rosette - Instructors

The instructors at Camp Rosette are not only fine educators but accomplished performers and composers in a variety of styles and disciplines as well. Each individual brings their own perspective and expertise into their teachings. Read a bit about each person below and find out exactly where your information will be coming from.

Michael Lyngstad BMus, BEd, Dipl. Jazz Performance-MacEwan Contemporary Fingerstyle, Rock and Blues, Classical Guitar, Jazz, Private Lessons

Mr. Lyngstad is an accomplished performer, producer, teacher, and composer who has firmly established himself as a professional musician in Edmonton. His approach to teaching is based on over a decade of experience combined with a rich history of performing and formal education. Possessing a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Alberta in addition to a jazz performance diploma in guitar from MacEwan college Michael has been thoroughly trained in performing on the instrument as well as how to teach others most effectively. Michael teaches guitar professionally at the MacEwan center for the Performing, Visual, and Communication Arts campus as well as teaching and co-ordinating GuitarSmart programs in Edmonton Alberta including in-school group lessons, private lessons, and Camp Rosette. As a performer, Michael is involved with a number of projects based in Edmonton including The Rosette Guitar Duo and his most recent music project dedicated to creating music about the history and beauty of Canada's National Parks.

Kevin Marsh BMus Rock and Blues, Classical Guitar, Bluegrass, Private Lessons

Mr. Marsh is a consummate musician. Steeped in the fine tradition of the classical guitar but not limited to this, Kevin has tirelessly pursued his craft learning bluegrass, rock, and a variety of other instruments from a number of world cultures in his pursuit of communicating through music. He has been a professionally practicing guitar instructor for 15 years, plying his trade in Sherwood Park Alberta at the Sherwood Park School of music in addition to holding many teaching positions at a number of other studios in the Edmonton Area. Currently, Kevin is on the instructional staff at Acoustic Music Shop, Community Music, Sherwood Park School of Music, and maintains a private studio in Edmonton. Kevin also teaches group lessons to elementary school children in Sherwood Park where he focusses on fun in learning while encouraging excellence. Kevin performs professionally with the McCoy Simonson Band as well as with Edmonton's Rosette Guitar Duo.
